Managing Director

I started Kids Inc in February 2005, and as a mother myself, my focus and priority has always been about the kids and families and providing a service that ALL families can have access to and belong.

I have a Bachelor of Social Science and worked as Laboratory Technician in a previous life, but knew I had to change industries as my passion is kids. I was involved in Playcentre Training and was an Executive Member for 16 years. I know first-hand what it’s like juggling work, other commitments and children (I have 5 children and three grandchildren) so I wanted Kids Inc to be a place where parents and children felt safe, supported, engaged and could have fun!

I have so many ‘favourites’ about doing what I do but two stand outs for me are i) watching our little ones over the years grow in confidence and become young adults and ii) seeing parents in study, qualify and move into the workforce providing better lives for their children.

 I’m a strong advocate for parents and everything I do is about providing the best for our families. I work closely with Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) to try and streamline the childcare subsidy application and make the process smoother and easier for parents.
