At Kids Inc, kids are at the heart of everything we do, and ensuring we provide a safe environment is something we take very seriously. Also, when it comes to safety and wellbeing, we don’t just sit still, we are continuously monitoring what we have in place and making improvements where we can.
We’re an Approved OSCAR Provider Accredited to Standard, Level 3
Kids Inc are not only industry compliant, but exceed requirements set by the Ministry of Social Development in regard to OSCAR (Out of School Care and Recreation) Accreditation Standards, particularly around staff training. Also, parents and caregivers are able to access Work and Income NZ (WINZ) OSCAR subsidies for our programmes.
We, like all out of school care providers are audited regularly by the Ministry of Social Development OSCAR Accessors, which means we maintain great quality of care and service.
Our Staff to Kids Ratio
We have a passion for what we do and we’re focused on providing the best and safest environment for our kids.
When onsite we have 1 teacher for every 10 children and when offsite 1 teacher to every 8 children. When it comes to water based activities we have 1 teacher to every 5 children.
We understand the extra concern parents have with children in and around water, so we don’t stand on the sidelines, our teachers are trained in water safety and are in the pool with the kids.
Extensive Comprehensive Training for Staff
You are trusting us with your children, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. We adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.

It’s only natural for parents to be concerned about their children travelling in someone else’s vehicle.
You can rest assured that all Kids Inc vehicles and drivers are compliant.

We have designed our own vigorous vetting process. To work at Kids Inc you must pass a number of checks, where a Police Check is only one, not the only check.

- Any teacher that drives a Kids Inc vehicle holds a current, clean New Zealand Drivers Licence and adheres to the road rules
- All vehicles have current registrations and Warrant of Fitness
- Vehicles are well maintained and kept clean
- Kids Inc provide Booster Car Seats for children 5 to 7 years of age.
